Another month, another leading man, another blogathon…
Join me for another joint blogathon just before that other joint blogathon with Return to the 80s.
Top 10 Kurt Russell Performances, WatchMojo.com
The subject of this blogathon which I am running with Paul from Return to the 80s is… the one and only, the lovely Kurt Russell. He has been starring in movies, TV Movies and TV since the age of 11, which was shockingly 56 years ago!!! Bloggers are free to review from any of these mediums… This can include his animated roles, such as The Fox and the Hound (1981) to his romantic comedy roles such as Overboard (1987).
Or you can write about his work with directors such as John Carpenter and Quentin Tarantino. These can be from his film debut as a child star in an uncredited role in Elvis Presley‘s It Happened at the World’s Fair (1963) to his more recent parts in the Fast and Furious franchise in Furious 7 (2015) and The Fate of the Furious (2017) or in the Marvel film series in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (2017).
Or you can tell about any of his TV roles from Dennis the Menace (1962) to Hawaii Five-O (1977). All we ask is you write a respectful post on him and his work. A list of his movies and TV appearances can be found HERE and HERE
We’re celebrating his 56 years on the big and wee screen here in a 3 day blogathon from the 21st to 23rd of May this year… and we are inviting the usual suspects to join us be you film or TV podcasters or bloggers.
You can write about Russell’s role as an actor and choose a film from any decade of his film career so far, or write about the man himself. Just suggest your post if you are not sure and we’ll approve it if it’s suitable. Do come and join in the fun… as usual, I have my who’s doing what page linked to HERE.
The all important rules…
Love you lovely lot of bloggers to join me and Paul, my Return ….or anyone else who wants to celebrate Kurt Russell.
- You can review ANY of his films or TV shows.
- We will allow just three duplicates for each topic, movie or TV Show.
- Review choices can be added as a comment on this page or you can contact me on my Contact Me page – either way please add the name and URL of your blog along with your movie or TV choice. Or you can send me a Direct Message on Twitter.
- Or if you want to write about these topics (eg actors involved), tell me what your topic will be. I won’t accept posts that are uncomplimentary or disrespectful to him or his work.
- Add your Twitter page so I can promote your post.
- You can also add podcasts to their work but only if you send me the podcast link through my Contact Me page.
- A full list of blogs, podcasters and review choices will be posted on a separate page and updated regularly.
- Only original, never before published posts will be accepted.
- Send your link to your post / podcast / video to Return to the 80s and me on the days of the blogathon.
- Note we will be publishing all the links on both of our sites.
The films we’ve chosen to review are…
Return to the 80s… The Mean Season (1985)
and Realweegiemidget Reviews… Escape from New York (1981).
Don’t forget to add one of our fab banners (as made by my good self)…
We both look forward to hearing from you xxx

Thanks Gill…I just don’t like being “late”. Chocolate hasn’t arrived yet…probably because it is so delicious and someone else got hold of it (no, no, no, no….can’t think something so terrible). We’ve had loads of public holidays so I’m sure it will arrive soon. Your bars should be well on their way too but…yes…as I say, we’ve had loads of holidays.

I need to get the bad taste out of my mouth from having to swallow Return from Witch Mountain and The Watcher in the Woods, the two Disney clunkers I did this week for another blogathon. As I recall I particularly liked the Dexter Riley films from the 70’s. If it’s not being too greedy I’ll take all three; “The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes”, “Now You See Him Now You Don’t” and “The Strongest Man in the World”.
