BLOGATHON… Announcing the Kurt Russell Blogathon

Another Month, Another Leading Man, Another Blogathon…

Join me for another joint blogathon just before that other joint blogathon with Return to the 80s.

Top 10 Kurt Russell Performances,,

I’ll admit it, when I got a personal invitation to join Return to the 80s for this blogathon, a wonderful retro podcaster and blogger I was gobsmacked. As he’s a fellow blogger from Banzai Retro Club (and the former 80s League) who has been an encouraging support to my blog from way back, be it commenting on my posts or adding his fab support to my blogathons. So, I honestly had a DeNiro moment with “you talking to me?” reverberating round my head like the Dallas theme tune does. (Normally.) So luckily he was talking to little old me (or that could have been embarrassing), and here it is…

The subject is… the one and only, the lovely Kurt Russell, who has been starring in movies, TV Movies and TV from the age of 11, which was a shocking 56 years ago!!! And you are free to review from any of these mediums…this can include his animated roles, such as The Fox and the Hound 1981() to his romantic comedy roles such as Overboard (1987) or his work with directors such as John Carpenter and Quentin Tarantino. These can be from his film debut as a child star in an uncredited role in Elvis Presleys It Happened at the World’s Fair (1963) to his more recent part in the Fast and Furious franchise in Furious 7 (2015) and The Fate of the Furious (2017) or Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 2017(). Or any of his TV roles from Dennis the Menace (1962) to Hawaii Five-O (1977). All we ask is you write a respectful post on him and his work.

A list of his movies and TV appearances can be found HERE and HERE

So we’re celebrating his 56 years on the big and wee screen here in a 3 day blogathon from the 21st to 23rd of May this year… and we are inviting the usual suspects to join us be you film or TV podcasters or bloggers.

You can write about Russell’s role an actor and to choose a film from any decade from his film career so far, or write about the man himself.  Be it as a writer for Escape from L.A. (1996) or involved with stunts in Backdraft (1981)  Or you  may just want to write about his nominations for awards or his relationship with Goldie Hawn. Just suggest your post if you not sure and we’ll approve it if its suitable.

Do come and join in the fun… as usual I have my who’s doing what page as linked to HERE.

And the all important rules…

  1. I need to get the bad taste out of my mouth from having to swallow Return from Witch Mountain and The Watcher in the Woods, the two Disney clunkers I did this week for another blogathon. As I recall I particularly liked the Dexter Riley films from the 70’s. If it’s not being too greedy I’ll take all three; “The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes”, “Now You See Him Now You Don’t” and “The Strongest Man in the World”.

            1. Thanks Gill…I just don’t like being “late”. Chocolate hasn’t arrived yet…probably because it is so delicious and someone else got hold of it (no, no, no, no….can’t think something so terrible). We’ve had loads of public holidays so I’m sure it will arrive soon. Your bars should be well on their way too but…yes…as I say, we’ve had loads of holidays.
