3 Blogging Years from a Little Lady

Celebrating 3 years of blogging on all things entertainment…

My yearly update on this year’s posts and blogathons along with a wee but heartfelt thanks.

I just remembered it’s 3 years since I started this blog. My blog started 3 years ago on the 22nd October 2015, as my Darlin Husband – then of 3 months, but now almost 10 years together – recommended me the perfect fodder for a post.

He knows my love of films about mental health, biopics and the Brat Pack his recommendation of Love & Mercy (2014) was just perfect. Now 3 years and a bit later, my blog still chugging away.. with me gittering on all things entertainment.

Here are those all important yearly stats…

Over the last year, I’ve held a hell of a lot of blogathons with – and without – some wonderful bloggers. A big thanks to Thoughts All Sort’s Kat (Then and Now Blogathon), The Good Old Days of Classic Hollywood’s Crystal (Robin Williams Blogathon), Return to the 80s Paul (Kurt Russell Blogathon) and Chris from Angelman’s Place (Lee Grant Blogathon). Last but not least thanks to Barry from Cinematic Catharsis (Amicus and Hammer Blogathon).

This for joining me in these blogathons on some great acting talent and movies and for YOU for joining with your posts, and you know who you are. I’ve also run my own blogathon on Michael Caine and have another coming up in December on Richard Burton. With a wee shameless plug HERE.

I’m happy to announce that both the Michael Caine and that Hammer and Amicus blogathon (with Barry) will be returning next year. Other blogathons to expect include some other great ones with one coming soon after the New Year. This with a lovely and fun blogger who in a wee clue has featured in a few of my blogathons, and has always made me laugh with her amusing posts. This blogathon featuring a topic close to our hearts.

This year also heralded the #FFGoldblum tag on Twitter Fridays – recently renamed the #FFGroovyGoldblumers (thanks to Le from Critica Retro for the inspiring nickname; Goldblumer). In some exciting news I’ve had my article on John Garfield and Shelley Winters in the film He Ran All the Way (1951) published in The Dark Pages publication. later this year.

Finally, I’ve met – via our blog comments, social media and blogathons – some wonderful fellow entertainment bloggers this year. I’d like to thank them, and for the continued love and support from Darlin Husband. Also for your support, likes and comments on my posts.

I’d also like to thank those bloggers who held blogathons I entered this year for your wonderful topics. I’ve watched some wonderful new films and TV in blogathon on topics such as Clark Gable, Time Travel and Outer Space and new films including Teacher’s Pet (1958), X, Y and Zee (1972) and The Innocents (1961). I also rewatched a few favourites in posts such as Katherine Wentworth in Dallas (1978-92), Somewhere in Time (1980) and Kindergarten Cop (1990).

As I enter my 4th year of blogging, I look forward to adding some more lovely #FFGroovyGoldblumers (add your Twitter tag and follow me if you want to be included and you aren’t already), some great collaborations and blogathons and watching (and rewatching) some great TV and movies…

    • Should be thanking you Paul – always wonderful to have your supportive comments and understanding when it comes to those more British themed posts. You’ve always been one of the people I feel are a genuine friend in the world of blogging – looking forward to may years of your blog too! (as I’m sure those leading ladies are too)

Love your thoughts... but only if they are spoiler free!
