Let’s celebrate 70 years of Joan Collins on TV and in the movies…
Join this blogathon on the British actress famous for her roles in every genre, and known by every Dynasty.
Joan Collins – Top 26 Highest Rated Movies, Top 10 Charts
Since announcing my Home Sweet Home blogathon (with the always lovely Taking Up Room) I’ve been mulling over big name actresses that I could tribute in 2021. I whittled a very long list down to four outstanding actresses, Karen Black, Helen Mirren and Joan Collins… or Lee Grant (again).
Then I felt it could only be one, the lovely actress Joan Collins. I’ve been a fan of her work be it films or books since I was a teen and she joined the Dynasty cast, and I read (at sobbed at) her autobiographical book Katy: A Fight For Life. I’ve never been disappointed in a film or TV Show this English actress has appeared in and she’s always been a joy to watch in her movies and TV appearances from every decade.
To my amazement and joy, she has been a devoted follower of this blog since way back… Admittedly when she first followed me I thought this was the biggest and best of Darlin Husband’s wind-ups, since the name Andrew McCarthy showed up on my Bluetooth and I hunted a train carriage looking for him.
Anyway, I’d love you to help me tribute to this actress who is celebrating a massive seventy years on screen this year in my March blogathon. The blogathon will be from the 8th to the 10th of March 2021. Joan has starred in just about every genre at least once meaning there is a topic out there for everyone. So I’m hoping you’ll join this no matter what your blog focus is, be it classic movies or TV Mini Series.
She’s been on-screen in horrors such as The Devil Within Her (1978) and comedies such as The Time of Their Lives (2017). On the wee screen, she’s done TV Movies – such as The Cartier Affair (1984) and she’s been a guest star on Star Trek (1967). She starred in her greatest role to date as Alexis Carrington Colby (etc) in Dynasty (1981-89). She’s also done some fantastic adverts too, particularly those with Leonard Rossiter (as seen HERE).
I’m reviewing her appearance in Quest for Love (1971).
If you need to be inspired, a list of her career in film or TV is found if you CLICK HERE and for more of her work as a writer and more CLICK HERE.
A who’s reviewing what list can be found HERE with a list of reviewers and their choices for the blogathon.

We’ve lost so many people in the world of entertainment recently, it’s great you’re paying tribute to Joan while she’s still gracing us with her presence. Happy New Year and the best of luck with your blogathons!

It would be wrong if you didn’t do it with Gregory Peck in the cast. It’s all yours.
