BLOGATHON… The Devilishly Delightful Donald Pleasence Blogathon: The Recap

Let’s spend Halloween with the Donald Pleasence Blogathon for the final wrap up…

You reviewed, you read, and you came and joined us in celebrating the filmography of this talented actor.

It’s kind of fitting that Barry from Cinematic Catharsis and my final day celebrating Donald Pleasence has come today on Halloween. And if you don’t get that reference check out my review HERE. Over the last few days, we’ve celebrated Donald Pleasence in his wonderful filmography with an amazing 16 entries (so far)… not including today.

To all the illustrious bloggers who joined us, thanks for your wonderful posts where you have honoured this actor. Your posts have not only proven he really was synonymous with horror, but also that he has extended his acting talents to other genres such as TV whodunnits and films about the Cold War and World War II movies. I have read and commented on all your posts so if for any reason your comment is not showing, please check your spam and if it’s not there, please tell me so I can try again.

To all of you who have been reading these posts, thanks for joining us and sharing, retweeting and liking those posts on Social Media. So if you have some catching up to do… do click on those links and read those wonderful posts about this always screen-stealing actor… Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3.

Finally, a huge thanks to my twice-a-year co-host Barry from Cinematic Catharsis for his always sterling support and presence in my wee small hours during this blogathon. As always I am looking forward to our blogathon double bill next year with that great choice for the first one and the return of that other one later in the year…

And readers and bloggers, if you want to know exactly what I am talking about, just tune in around February next year to discover the topic for the first one… so you won’t have to wait that long for the first of these future announcements.

Now on with those final posts…

My cohost, Barry at Cinematic Catharsis takes us to a 1960s Horror film with his thoughts on Circus of Horrors (1960)…

Andrew at Maniacs and Monsters continues the horror theme this time from the 1980s, with The Devonsville Terror (1983)…

Eric at Diary of a Movie Maniac returns to the horror theme again with Prince of Darkness (1987)…

In a change of genre, Sally at 18 Cinema Lane adds her analysis of The Corsican Brothers (1985)…

Amber at Tango in Eden… takes us back to the 1970s with a baby horror movie and her review on I Don’t Want to Be Born (aka The Devil Within Her) (1974)…

And things turn noir with Erica at The Poppity and her post all about Hell is a City (1960)…

Bye for now and hope to see you for the Christopher Plummer Blogathon in December… details HERE.

But what I can tell you is there are a few blogathon announcements coming up later this year, where I am going to be joined by some lovely bloggers… so don’t be a muppet and miss out to join or to read… and do remember to tune in to this post for any latecomers…

  1. Hello Gill! I’m planning on creating a post about ‘The Pick My Movie Tag’ that you nominated me for. What type of movies were you looking for when you said, “A list of must-watch Hallmark film star biopics”?
