Don’t blink… Cameos in the movies…
Don’t you love it when you see an actor or actress you weren’t expecting?
There are a few cameos in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) – which I’m not going to mention – BUT don’t read on if you don’t want to know.
Paul Michael Glaser and David Soul in Starsky and Hutch (2004)…

When this particular couple of cameos make their appearance you almost made you want them to refilm the film again but with them reprising their 1975 TV characters and replacing Ben Stiller (Starsky) and Owen Wilson (Hutch). This along with a rewrite and these thoughts are what I’m sure most of us thought when we saw The Dukes of Hazzard immortalised in film. Jessica Simpson will never ever be Catherine Bach who originally played Daisy Duke, just ask my Darlin Husband or my dad. And it goes without saying those darn Hazzard Boys from the 1970s are still hot.
Bill Murray in Zombieland (2005)…

We do forgive you for Garfield (2005), Bill but you should have added that remake of telly’s Charlie’s Angels. Unless it was a favour for John Forsythe. Then only Forsythe could be Charlie, as he was in the TV series. The fact that the actor who voiced Charlie and the actor who was Blake Carrington were one and the same, I learned from Darlin Husband during a random Dynasty (1981-1989) discussion.
Larry Hagman in Superman (1978)…

One actor who escaped the oft mentioned Superman curse could be Larry Hagman. In 1978, not only did he star in an all too brief cameo in the first Superman movie alongside Gene Hackman, Valerie Perrine and Christopher Reeve. (More on his Superman Major cameo can be read about HERE.)
But also as he also took on a small part in a then-new mini-series about a wealthy Texan family. The character was J.R. Ewing and this led to 12 more series and was of course the highly successful Dallas (1978-91).
Sean Connery in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (1991)…

One of two actors in the film who upstaged Costner, the other was Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Only Connery could get away with playing an English man with a Scottish accent. Got away with this more than the lead American playing Robin Hood.
Christopher Lloyd in A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014)…

Perfect set up, perfect cameo, perfect timing done to perfection.

Well I suppose all the lead actors had to start with bit parts somewhere, but great that they can still be still be recognised now when a lot looked so different back then

It’s amazing watching older films and seeing actors you’re used to seeing as leads nowadays as simple cameos, but they all start somewhere 🙂

I had to hear your thoughts about the cinematic version of starsky and hutch and I agree with you completely! I would have rather seen them reprise their roles because that movie is such a huge disappointment except for them popping up at the end!
And I have never seen the film version of dukes of Hazzard and I think I’m okay with that.

I had to switch off, it was more painful than the episodes where the Dukes cousins starred.
