Recognising with a wee award these real writing talents…
Read on to find my 15 nominees for a Blogger Recognition Award.
This post is my long overdue as I am (finally) accepting my two nominations for Blogger Recognition Awards. My nominators are the Retro Movie Buff and the Pure Entertainment Preservation Society for their nominations for this award. This a thank you post for their kind words and nominations.
As for my up to fifteen nominees, it should be any number of bloggers as there is a fantastic amount of talent out there in the entertainment blogging community. But, as I can only select up to 15, I’ve cut this list a lot.
There are more than a few duplicate nominees from previous awards for my chosen blogs on this list of lovelies. This is as it’s my first – and second – time to receive this award. As is my norm, if you haven’t been mentioned, this isn’t a bad thing more that I’ve added you to a list for a future post like this…
To quote Real Movie Buff on the rules…
Thank the blogger who nominated you and include a link to their blog.

Tell your nominees about your award post, so they can participate.
I would, first of all, like to thank those lovely bloggers for thinking of me and then adding me to their list of wonderful blogs. I feel very honoured that you added me to such a prestigious list of great blogs. I’d urge you – as my reader or nominee – to click on the links here and read their wonderful blogs.
Do also read also the contents of their nominee’s blogs too. I’ve read quite a few posts from these nominees as blogathon entries, research or bedtime read and I can vouch there’s some great reading to be discovered…
Here’s the award…
The reason for my blog…
The reason I started my blog takes place one day back in 2015… my Darlin Husband had been encouraging me to write for ages – as had other family members – but I’d been unsure what to write about. As I didn’t want to write about my life in Finland or before that, I was kinda stuck on what to talk about.
However, after my husband recommended I watch Love & Mercy I finally started writing. He was away at the time so I started to write as if it was a review telling him about the movie and found I really enjoyed putting my more random thoughts in writing.
In a short space of time, my niche became Film and TV. This of course as I do tend to watch the telly and movies more than rave about makeup, cooking or sport. Entertainment has always been a firm interest for me as my family and friends will no doubt agree. As for books, I do enjoy reading autobiographies, biographies and film and TV tie ins, but I take ages to read a book!
Naturally, of course, my love of the original Dallas came out as I wrote and I toyed with renaming my blog “All Roads Lead To Dallas“… Regular readers and friends will have noted I do tend to mention this TV soap a helluva lot in my blog in more random reviews. I’d also thought of changing the Real in Realweegiemidget to Reel but haven’t as I didn’t want to confuse people.
Two pieces of advice for the blogger…
This is my advice for the film and TV blogger, but I’d like to think others could adapt it to your own niche.
One, read and comment on other blogs. It may seem pretty obvious and a bit of a cliche but you really will find some great blogging buddies out there if you do. You might even find some blogging kindred spirits and/or that random person who adores Dallas as much as you do and will willingly join you in co-hosting a joint blogathon.
Secondly, when reviewing films, a little bit of self-disclosure goes a long way… Think you were alone in thinking that the Magic trailer gave you the creeps? In a recent post, I admitted to this film’s trailer freaking me out as a kid.
I was surprised to learn that others from all over the world had been scared too. This gave my childhood fears some backing and support, just knowing I wasn’t alone in this. I only now wish I’d seen the film, as it’s now one of my favourite Anthony Hopkins films.
Finally my nominees… (in no particular order)
