NEWS… Welcome to the First Day of the Hammer and Amicus Blogathon

#AllPosts

It’s blogathon time for you, you and you…

Settle down with a hot drink, (optional cake) and read some amazing reads.

Literally up until yesterday, Barry – from Cinematic Catharsis – and I were amazed that at our final count, some 34 bloggers joined us in a waterfall – is that the plural of trickle…? – of entries of the horror and non-horror kind. This is our 4th on-off yearly journey into the world of those movies from Hammer and Amicus productions. We are both astounded by your enthusiasm and motivation to join us for our on-off yearly shenanigans and again and again (delete agains as appropriate).

It’s been fantastic to read your review choices as we enter this blogathon, including films with stars such as Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Ralph Bates, Judy Matheson, Martine Beswick, Charles Gray, Joan Collins and Britt Ekland. We’ve some more unique entries for you to look forward to in the next few days, with a sketch of one of the above and a series of books with both these entry types new to the proceedings.

There is still time to enter the blogathon over the next 3 days. You can join us and all the details are HERE. Do remember to check out the Who’s Doing What page HERE as we are not accepting duplicates unless they are in a list, so when it’s gone it’s gone. Also, my cut-off time for adding posts to my posts is 9pm Finnish time so if you are desperate to make the first day add your post to Barry’s blog HERE. And you will be entered into my post tomorrow…

I am also happy to announce that the always supportive and giving actress, Judy Matheson – who starred in Twins of Evil (1971) and Lust for a Vampire (1971) –  has joined this blogathon, with her thoughts about one particular Hammer actor – and I’d like to thank her here for her contribution.. it really would not be the same without you. For those not in the know Judy gave her personal insights into these films HERE in my exclusive interview with her, and has regularly added her support since then with some wonderful messages for those participating…

So now on with those contributions, and remember to join us tomorrow and the next day for even more film reviews and more… I will be adding comments to your wonderful posts in the next couple of days, so if they don’t appear before the end of the blogathon please check your spam folders.

Remember to click on those blue links to reach the reviews…
