This is my belated post for when I assisted in the voting for the following film and TV awards for OFTA in the periods 2023 and 2023-24 respectively. l also voted for the annual TV and Film Hall of Fame.

For 2023’s new releases, the most nominated film was Barbie with an impressive 24 nominations. Oppenheimer was the winner of the most film awards with 12 nominations including Best Film... and more details of those wards are found on the OFTA site, by clicking these blue links.

Entrants included Jim Henson (the puppet master who made Yoda for the Star Wars trilogy parts IV to VI), Richard Donner (Director of Superman (1978)) and Peter Bogdanovich (director of Paper Moon (1973)).

This year’s new Hall of Fame members included Stephen Sondheim (for Music eg Gypsy (1962)), Douglas Trumbull (Visual Effects eg Brainstorm (1983)) and Michael Ballhaus (Cinematography eg The Departed (2006))
