NEWS… Flashback to 2016, for a Sunshine Blogger Award

#AllPosts

Better late than never…

And profound apologies to Cat at Thoughts All Sorts.

So getting back in the time machine to those crazy early days of Realweegiemidget Reviews, for this post. It seems I missed an award nomination for a Sunshine Blogger Award with my one time Quirky Cat collaborator, but now Chocolate swap buddy, Cat from Thoughts All Sorts. She nominated me for this blogging award way back in 2016, (yup 3 years ago). This was for the Sunshine Blogger Award for those blogs that bring sunshine to your day.

I discovered this nomination in a post I found purely by accident when I was looking for some of the post replies relating to that crazy tag we started years ago… these are on our tag about your favourite hotties from TV and film.  This post still apparently doing the rounds has inspired another tag from us. This soon to be announced tag however is still in the discussion stages…

Anyway, it seems to accept this Sunshine Blogger nomination I’ve a few tasks to do…

The rules for this award are as follows…

Sunshine Award

  • Post the award on your blog (see that yellow sunshine inspired blog picture above,)
  • Thank the person who nominated you (see below)
  • Answer the 11 questions they set you (see below)
  • Pick another 11 bloggers (and let them know they are nominated!) (see below)
  • Set them 11 questions (see below)

So firstly, thanks Cat for this wonderful nomination for my first Sunshine Blogger award… and for adding me to your list of inspiring others. And to read more on Cat’s wonderful list CLICK HERE.  I’d like to add here that not to worry if you haven’t made this list I don’t think you aren’t a wee bit of sunshine, I’m just hopefully tagging some of you I’ve not tagged before that deserve a wee mention.

Also since writing this post (as I’m updating it now) I was added as another Sunshine blogger to another lovely blogger’s list. So there’s another post with another 11 of you coming soon…

Here are Cat’s 11 questions…

Somewhere in Time

If you could somehow transport yourself into a movie and be a character, who would you be?

I’d love to be Elise McKenna in Somewhere in Time, as there is something incredibly romantic about the idea of a man falling so totally in love with you that he goes back in time to meet you to win your heart… and as long as he wouldn’t find that bloody coin.

A good book and a good movie are lovingly waiting for you at the same time. Do you read or watch a movie?

Probably watch the movie snuggled up to my Darlin Husband if he’s in the mood to riff the film mercilessly. If it’s just me I’d watch it with a good coffee and slab of a yummy cake. Unless it’s one of those books you have to read in one go because you get totally lost in it and end up finishing it. And I’ve the time to do it.

Do you find yourself quoting movies (or books) or singing lines of songs to colleagues (or friends) when an opportune moment presents itself in a conversation or situation?

Nope, just when watching the movie, sadly I know only two movies (and more than quite a few Dallas moments) off by heart, and that’s Grease 2 and St Elmos Fire. Not classics by any means.

As a teen, though I’m sure I used to be really annoying as I quoted Andrew McCarthy films at random, which didn’t have the desired effect. When I’m with my little sister we do tend to join in at strategic points when we watch International Velvet, such as when Tatum O’Neal sees the foal (which will make zero sense if you haven’t seen the film) and at the end of the film.

Night owl or Early bird?

Neither, but do think sleep is totally underrated especially if you have a good dream.

Which movie from your childhood will you always have a soft spot for even if it isn’t as great as you remember it?

Some of the Brat Pack films seem a wee bit grim now, but still, have a soft spot for Sixteen Candles. If you ignore the un-PC moments it’s a great movie. Also, most films with Andrew McCarthy are now admittedly a bit cringey looking back on them (due to watching all his films up to and including Weekend at Bernie’s back in the day) but still sob at the end of Fresh Horses

What languages do you speak?

English (native language) and Finnish (not fluent, but trying).

With David Warner

What is your perfect holiday destination?

Scotland, I really, really miss family and good friends as an expat so I treasure trips home more than ever. Luckily not lost my friends back home since moving here, for which I’m always grateful. But would love to go to Los Angeles, do the tours, the studios and see my best friend who lives there.

Have you ever met anyone famous?

Ronnie Corbett, Justin Lee Collins, Keith Chegwin and David Warner. But was in the same room as Terry Wogan, Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray, and when at comic-con George Lazenby, Bernard Cribbins and Peter Mayhew.

Christopher Lee and Caroline Munro

Vampires or werewolves?

Neither if talking Twishite, otherwise Christopher Lee gotta be my favourite vampire actor and Jack Nicholson my fave werewolf. Now that would be a far more interesting take on the Twishite saga.

What is your guilty pleasure (book, movie or series)?

All Movies and TV are mentioned HERE and TV Series now including the new Dynasty series. Do love a good entertainment-themed autobiography.

If you could transport yourself back in time to live in another era/age, which would it be?

Quite happy where I am but would love to have met my Darlin Husband sooner…

My list of lovelies…

Crystal from In the Good Old Days of Classic Hollywood

Michaela from Love Letters to Old Hollywood

Emma from Emma K Wall (Explains it All)

Gabriela from Pale Writer

Rebecca from Taking Up Room

Jonathan from Dubsism

Michael from Words Seem Out of Place

Debbie from Moon in Gemini

Christine from Christine Wehner

Kristina from Speakeasy

Le from Critica Retro

Here are my questions for you lovely lot…

  1. Your perfect film romantic movie stars you opposite which actor / actress as your love interest?
  2. What movie always makes you cry?
  3. What film do you think didn’t need a sequel?
  4. What’s your favourite film or TV reboot?
  5. Who’s your favourite film or TV villain?
  6. Who was your first love in the movies?
  7. What film could you watch over and over again?
  8. What’s your favourite (and most disliked) autobiography (book)?
  9. What’s your favourite (and most disliked)biopic?
  10. If you could interview anyone for your blog, who would it be? What would you ask them first?
  11. Who or what is your dream blogathon subject?

So looking forward to hearing your answers and thanks again for the lovely award Cat.
